Marry My Husband was a romance web novel created by Sungsojak and illustrated by 아리아 (Aria), and officially licensed and published on YONDER; it concluded on May 6, 2023. The original Korean web novel premiered on Naver Web Novel and concluded on April 19, 2021 and special supplementary story premiered on July 29, 2022 and concluded on September 21, 2022.

There are webtoon and audiobook adaptions of the series.

Sungsojak is also the author of The Wild Flower of the Palace.

Synopsis

Jiwon Kang is suffering from cancer at only thirty-seven years old, but she believes she can get through it with her husband Minhwan and her best friend Sumin at her side―until she finds the two of them in bed together. The literal last straw is when Minhwan goes so far as to murder Jiwon without any remorse. So when Jiwon somehow opens her eyes and finds herself ten years in the past, she's determined to change her fate. But in order for Jiwon to avoid meeting the some dismal end, someone has to take her place. Jiwon sets out to forge a new future for herself and get revenge for the past by setting up her backstabbing best friend with her cheating husband. clearly, they're a match made in heaven―or rather, a match made in hell.

Characters

Jiwon Kang

The protagonist of the series. After being beaten to death by Minhwan upon discovering his infidelity with Sumin, she is reincarnated back in time to change her fate that benefits not only herself, but also her friends, and get revenge on Sumin and Minhwan. In the first timeline, she marries Minhwan, becomes depressed due to Minhwan's negligence and treatment from her mother-in-law, develops cancer, and is beaten to death. In the second timeline, she takes steps using her memories of the first timeline to break off her marriage with Minhwan and develop a relationship with Jihyeok.

Jihyeok Yu

The deuteragonist of the series. A stern manager who is easily flustered with romance. In the second timeline, he attempts to get closer to Jiwon and eventually become her lover. It is revealed that Jihyeok first met Jiwon at university when she took care of a cat named Gompang that Jihyeok eventually took in.

Minhwan Park

The secondary antagonist of the series and Jiwon's husband in a previous timeline. He is very selfish and negligent towards Jiwon's feelings. He first dated Jiwon as a dare in the first timeline, but never broke up with her out of pity because she is too nice. He eventually beats her to death after being caught cheating with Sumin. In the second timeline, he hooks up with Sumin and is caught up in Sumin's multiple lies that causes him to get married to Sumin, causing him regret.

Sumin Jeong

The main antagonist of the series. Although outwardly friendly, she is a mean-spirited habitual liar and will do anything to make herself look good and draw all attention towards herself by victimizing herself, typically making others look bad and especially causing misery to Jiwon's life. In the second timeline, through Jiwon's interference and knowledge of the previous timeline, Sumin begins losing credibility and attempts to lie to protect her image, but this ultimately begins falling apart. She likes Minhwan and steals him away from Jiwon, but this results in a tumultuous relationship.

Eunho Baek

Jiwon's first high school crush. Jiwon intended on professing her love to him through letter, but due to Sumin switching letters with her own, he misunderstands Jiwon's feelings and disregards her for the rest of high school. Despite this incident, Eunho attempted to contact Jiwon years after high school to make amends with her and begin their relationship again as friends. He is the owner of Blue Cafe, a cafe on the first floor of Jiwon's workplace.

Gyeong-uk Kim

Huiyeon Yu

Jihyeok's sister. She works in the same company as Jiwon and Jihyeok. She begins developing feelings for Eunho.

Junseok Lee

Juran Yang

A co-worker of Jiwon and Jihyeok. In the first timeline, she resigns after being framed at work and unable to care for her child. In the second timeline, Jiwon helps her maintain her job by exposing the incompetence of a higher-up and helping Juran share responsibilities with her lazy husband. Her child is named Lee Yeonji.
