Then, pour in the lemon juice, minced garlic, and the sesame oil into the ziplock bag with the chicken.

Once you have it all in there, reseal the bag and give it a little shake to mix everything up and make sure the chicken is coated in the marinade.

Now, just place the ziplock bag in the fridge for at least 4-8 hours (2 hours bare minimum) but for the best flavor, overnight.

  2. Cut Out Extra Sodium
Sodium can sneak in where you least expect it. One place you’ll find extra sodium is in the teriyaki sauce. So, to cut out the excess, try and make your own teriyaki sauce. Taste and Tell has a great homemade teriyaki sauce recipe!

This was delicious. I only marinaded the chicken in the teriyaki & lemon juice (I didn't want to use garlic & I totally forgot to put in the oil). The chicken was so tender and flavorful.

I made this over the weekend and loved it. I am not a huge fan of bottled teriyaki sauce because it's usually so sweet. But the flavor combinations in this recipe were perfect. Thanks!

I found it turns out better only marinating it about half that time as the acid breaks down the chicken proteins less
